Here's one of the funny internet exchanges between people and their mothers to be found over at Postcards From You Momma (via Cup of Jo):
Me: MOM!
Mom: what
Me: i have internet in my room!!!!
Mom: wow
Me: WOW IS RIGHT!
Mom: right on mf
Me: what is mf?
Mom: my fruitcup
Me: oh of course
Over at the Cookie magazine site there's a lot of great stuff by Nell Casey, who appears to be their book columnist, including a column on the pressure to buy stuff to turn your kid into a genius -- it's what Paul Nyhan over at Working Dad calls the parenting industrial complex. Check out the magazine's mom library. In fact, the magazine's entire entertainment archive is worth a look. Cookie's starting to pleasantly surprise me. The first few issues seemed full of nothing but photographs of $500 dresses for infants -- and to be honest, it's still very high-end -- but they're beginning to feature some more interesting and more accessible stuff.
Wondertime magazine, a current favourite in this house, has a great list of poetry books for kids, in honour of Poetry Month.
