Don't worry, this isn't going to suddenly morph into a fashion blog or anything. (Or, no, wait. With my hormones this out of whack, who can tell what might happen? Excuse me while I go shave my head, fashion a dress out of bubble wrap --hmm, that material would be perfect for a high-concept line of maternity clothes and comfortable to boot -- and then sprawl artfully on the bathroom floor for a little while. ... Okay, I'm back.)
I just wanted to show off the first outfit I bought for the new baby that isn't a) a onesie or a pair of pajamas and b) pink, white, or cream. I bought it at the grocery store, for twelve bucks. For a few years now, the chain of grocery stores I frequent has offered this line of extremely cheap but somehow still attractive line of clothes called Joe, designed by the man who started Club Monaco. I have been coveting their clothes for baby girls the entire time. And now I'm afraid they're about to go bankrupt. Sigh. Anyway. Isn't it KEEYUTE?
So cute. It's all onesies over at our house, as baby's gender is uncertain. I've been assured it has one, however. Someone in my yoga class has similar uncertainly, which I find assuring, as it's statistically unlikely that they're BOTH hermaphrodites. But still, I want to buy a little summer dress!!

VERY cute.
also, been meaning to email you this, just for fun if nothing else. It occupied me endlessly while pregnant and trying to think of a fourth boy name.

Adorable! Clothes at the grocery, who knew?

So funny, Kerry. Ever since reading Middlesex, I've actually passed many an idle moment planning what we'd do if we ever had an intersexed baby. First things first: move to an urban center (like San Francisco) where there'd be the support of a community. Second: choose a gender neutral name. One that could go either way when/if s/he decides to pick a gender.
Thanks for the heads up on the babynamewiz, bb. I'm also really enjoying Nameberry.
Yes, Melissa, clothes at the grocery! At least for now. (I just added you to my parenting blog list... thanks for stopping by.)

Ooh, what a great outfit for a little girl! Not too girly, but cute enough, for sure.

when are you actually due? cuz I am, uh, knitting something for you. Well, for the baby. i know, i am a dork.

bb, you are not a dork. You are sweet. And, considering you have four boys at home, you must have sixteen hands. I am due on June 24. But since, if it goes full term, it's going to be a c-section, she'll probably be born the week before that. I'll find out more in March, I hope!

That is adorable! There is nothing that cute available in my grocery store, or even my Target, for that matter.

Watch what you say, fayrene, or I'll start sending Baby Lucinda grocery bags full of the stuff!
