This one doesn't talk yet -- she just tolerates me messing with her hair. The other one said two things I found of interest today.
Luke: Mom, can I have some chips?
Steph: Sure, honey, can you pass me the bag?
Luke (pulling the bag of chips out of the grocery bag): Here you go, Mommy! I'm a good helper, aren't I?
Steph: You sure are.
Luke: Some people aren't as lucky as you are! You have children to help you do everything!
Steph: Yes, that's right, some people don't have children.
Luke: They don't have anyone to help them! ... Mommy, can you put those in the bigger bowl, not that little one? And when you're finished will you bring it out to the living room for me?
***
Luke: Look! The hummingbird is hummering the tree!
You just have to love the pure and simple logic of kids. What they said will never cease to amaze you.
Maybe Luke will turn out to be a nature lover. I hope that hummingbirds will always serve to fascinate him as they do me. Each time I see one I remember my mom who also loved them but has pasted away.
