This is my least favourite of the kindle screensavers. It is James Joyce, momentarily despairing of the difficulty of composing beautiful and tantalizingly layered yet confusing, almost impenetrable text. There is another, less-well-know illustration of him giggling into his shirtsleeve: "One day they'll devote whole university level courses to figuring out this sentence, heeheehee... snort snort chortle." I'd like to smack him.
i'm with you

Ha. I found this page in looking to see if there was a way to remove specific authors from the screen saver rotation. You're certainly not alone.

Too bad you confuse arrogance with his puckish sense of humour about his academic legacy. Guess it's frustrating to have to deal with books so far beyond your ken.
Or, if you prefer - you're a fucking moron.
I don't care that this comment will never be published. Joyce makes people feel dumb, god knows, but I know that the morons above who don't have two brain cells to rub together, who you have the balls to approve, are far outnumbered by readers who understand that reading someone who you only understand 90% of the time is a comment on the author's intelligence, not your own stupidity.
