Welcome to our crooked house. My name is Stephany Aulenback. I live in Nova Scotia with my husband David, our little boy Luke, who is now six years old, and our little girl Sylvie, who is almost two. David and I are considerably older than that.
To contact me, please email stephka at eastlink dot ca. Crooked House is my main site, on which I am bound to ramble and post just about anything. The topic changes but I often post about my kids, our day-to-day life, the books we're reading, and links to whatever catches my fancy online. Spots and Stripes is my blog devoted to, you guessed it, all things spotted and/or striped. Paper and felt is my blog devoted to all things paper and felt, especially paper and felt craft.
I like to read and to write. I also enjoy sleeping and walking, but not at the same time. I am an exciting person but I am not that exciting.
On a good day, I am an agnostic. On a bad day, I’m an atheist. On a really bad day, I’m a total believer.
Luke likes books, computers, and “butterfly’s kisses” although he deeply disapproves of most insects. He loves soccer, video games, gymnastics, and inventing games with elaborate rules. Some of his ambitions are to one day win Wipeout, to design video games, to find a cure for death, and never to leave home. He also muses about becoming a garbage collector.
Sylvie like standing in the middle of the dining room table, dancing, fancy shoes, roaring like a lion, throwing things at Luke and pushing him over. Also laughing wildly. She does not like getting her nose wiped. If you try to do so, she will think you are trying to kill her and react accordingly.
