I was always struck by the story of George Eliot marrying her much younger man, only to have him jump in the canal on their honeymoon in Venice.

Just turned up a book I thought you might like if you haven't read it already - called Clever Maids: The Secret History of the Grimm Fairy Tales by Valerie Paradiz.


Did you read Book of Lost Things? It is so eerily fairy tale, I think you might love it.
