Some months ago I posted photographer Hendrik Kerstens' picture of his daughter Paula wearing a plastic bag on her head:
I recently checked his gallery again, to discover that he's since taken more beautiful photos of Paula with things like toilet paper rolls and bubble wrap on her head.
Luke and I loved them. And we were inspired to do some of our own:
Luke with toilet paper on his head.
He learned a new vocabulary word today: "solemn."
He couldn't keep being "solemn" for long.
Luke with a pull-up on his head.
Looking soulfully out the window.
Luke with cotton batting on his head.
Doesn't look quite as painful here.
Then again, maybe it is.
Luke with a green plastic bag on his head.
Luke likes this game. You should try it at home. (Just be careful with stuff like plastic bags.) You can click on any photo to enlarge it or just go to my flickr page where you can also see him with a bath toy, a diaper, a Starbucks bag, a plastic bin, a dish cloth, and a giant teddy bear on his head.
Update: If you do try this at home, why not share your photos with the group?
Oh dearie, sometimes I adore you so much it hurts.

You sweet thing, CAAF -- I adore you so much I really should go to the hopsital (as Luke says).
Thanks, Kim. I couldn't believe what a ham he was. We've got DOZENS of these.
I think someone should start a flickr group of people with household objects on their heads...

These are fantastic - he looks so pharaoh-like in the pull-up. I can't decide if I like the serious ones or the goofy ones more.

These are fantastic and hilarious. My son would not pose like that. He used to smile this wonderful smile whenever I took his picture. Now he thinks he needs to scrunch his eyes and nose and say cheese. What do you think Luke will say when he's a teenager and you pull out the pictures of him with a pull-up on his head! Too fun.

I don't know, ta -- pictures of your son scrunching his eyes and nose and saying cheese with a pull-up on his head might just equal PRICELESS.
I've taken leave of my senses. I've ordered twelve 8by10s of these photos and they are going up in a grid on my dining room wall...
