Consider this part of my ongoing nagging campaign to get you to write your fairy tale book!

Love! I've just come home from the library with seven versions of Little Red Riding Hood. The kids like to compare stories and illustrations. (I'm raising comp. lit. majors.) Thanks for posting this--I've also added it to my wish list.

Nathalie, there is a series called The Annotated Books that is very good for that sort of compare and contrast approach - there is a Grimm's, an Alice, an Oz, Peter Pan, Secret Garden etc. They each include a variety of illustrators and are also quite beautiful books. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=the+annotated+books

Thanks, Sara. I own most of them!! It began with my love affair with Maria Tatar, who did the Grimm one, and then I could not stop.

Saw a new fairy tale book in Book City today, with illustrations by David Hockney! Gorgeous.

Oooh, must look for the Hockney fairy tales! Thanks for the heads-up, Nathalie.
